Follow the Creed
"Education s not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire."--William Butler Yeats
Hello! My name is Ms. Christina Ouellette, and I am your teacher this year for English 4: College Readiness. You can call me Ms. O :-)
Though born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, I spent most of my life in Connecticut, and there is a part of me that will always think of Connecticut as home. However, I moved to Florida in 2010, and I have been teaching at UHS since our inaugural year. Each year has gotten better, and I hope this year will be no exception.
I have a degree in Journalism and received a B.S. in English Education from Southern Connecticut State University. My love for reading and writing largely took shape because of the educators I met along the way in high school and in college. Over the years, these educators were my biggest supporters and the greatest of mentors. They taught me to how to perfect my craft, how to get lost in a story, and how to think on levels I never knew possible. One of the reasons I went into education was for those educators, to pay it forward in a way. My goal is to help students become better readers, writers, and thinkers, and if you put in the work, that will happen!
I look foward to an exciting year with you all!
