Welcome to Environmental Science Honors for the 2018-2019 school year! You can find me in Building 1C on the third floor in room 309.

To learn more about the class, click on the link in the sidebar on the right side of this page. However, you will only find basic information on that page. To obtain handouts, worksheets, assignments and make up work for when you're absent, you will need to access this course's Canvas page found in your online student portal.

I also am a sponsor of the freshman class Student Government Association (SGA). If you have any questions about SGA or want to join, let me know and I'll help you out. The SGA and the Student Council are the decision makers and workers who help plan and run pep rallies, homecoming events, prom, etc. It's a great way to be involved in your school!

I served in the United States Marine Corps as a combat correspondent from 1988 to 2000. Then I was a graphic designer and weekly opinion page columnist for a newspaper in western North Carolina. I moved to Florida in 2003 and worked as a spokesman for the Volusia County Sheriff's Office for about 10 years. While working for the Sheriff's Office I went to school at night to earn a college degree as I pursued a dream I've had for most of my adult life to become a science teacher. Finally, I was hired here at University High in 2014. And over the course of about five years I researched and wrote a non-fiction book that was published by the University Press of Florida in 2014 about science education.
