About Me

Hello, I am Mr. Dye (Deputy Dye) your Criminal Justice Teacher here at University High School. I bring over 32 years of active law enforcement experience to our Criminal Justice classes. I will be instructing in Criminal Justice 2 through CJ 4 classes for the 2018-2019 school year.
Education:
I obtained my Bachelors degree in Technical Management from Oklahoma City University and my Associates degree in Administration of Criminal Justice from Seminole State College. I am also a graduate of the Federal Law Enforcement US Marshals Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, Georiga. 
Career Service:  
I have spent 22 years as a full-time Deputy Sheriff with the Volusia County Sheriff's Office and 6 years working for the United States Marshals Service in Los Angeles, CA. During these 28 years I have worked as a Criminal Investigator, Field Training Officer, Court Security, Patrol Sergeant, Detention Enforcement Specialist and most recently as the School Resource Officer (SRO) right here at UHS. Additionally, I was also assigned as the SRO at DeLand High School, Spruce Creek High School, Creekside and River Springs Middle Schools. I have now retired from full-time law enforcement duties however, since 2014 I have also served as a part-time Reserve Deputy with the Volusia County Sheriff's Office. I have always enjoyed teaching and instructing as part of my law enforcement duties and I now have the pleasure of carrying on that experience to you right here at University High School.
Other: 
I am a self-published author of one book (2005-Advantage Press) and the co-author of a second published book (2011-AMG Publishers). 
Class Location 
My classroom is located in Building 1B Room 101 (First Floor just down from the Book Room).
