Congratulations to the UHS Softball team for their big win last night against Deland.  The Lady Titans overcame a 3-0 deficit to win the game and punch their ticket to the playoffs.  Lily Ruckert led the team with three hits, and Ally Murdock added a monster home run, as well as starting a crucial double play late in the game.  Marissa Adame allowed only 4 hits in the outing.  The Lady Titans return to the field tomorrow night against Spruce Creek with the district title and the opportunity to host a state playoff game on the line.  The game is at 7 at Lake Mary.  Come out and support the team in their quest for a district title.

Titan 411 April 5

The UHS Softball team battle Deland on Tuesday, winning 3-2 in 10 innings.  Marissa Adame was stellar on the mound, striking out 16 batters.  Mckenzie Jones provided the late game heroics, hitting a home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to end the game.  Last night, the team traveled to Titusville to face Cardington-Lincoln, a softball powerhouse out of Ohio.  The JV team won their game 10-0.  That was followed by a tough, gritty performance by varsity.  Unfortunately, they came up on the short end of the scoring column, losing 8-6.  Sydney Hansen pitched well in her varsity debut, totaling six strikeouts, while only allowing six hits.  The teams return to the field this afternoon for an important district matchup with Seminole High School on the road.  Congratulations, girls!  Keep up the good work.
